WE ATTENDED THE LONDON BUILD EXHIBITION 2019

Last Wednesday, our Senior Account Executive Maddie attended the 2019 Build Exhibition at London’s renowned Olympia Exhibition Centre.  The annual event is the leading and largest construction and design show in the UK’s capital.

During our day at the event, we met a fantastic and diverse range of innovative businesses. Sustainability in the construction sector was a key theme which ran throughout the exhibition - and it was exciting to see so many forward thinking businesses under one roof.  A highlight of the event was the talks on sustainability.

Each talk explored different topics such as: the abundance of plastic waste, how we can future proof buildings and properties, how a business should share their carbon footprint, how and why can we create sustainable car parks and much more. The Exhibition showcased that there is an important need to focus on sustainability, now more than ever.

As an agency for purpose we work with a number of businesses who are working for change and leading the way in sustainability practices such as Oltco and Certified Sustainable.

Oltco is a leading resin solutions company that has developed its award-winning and innovative Recycle Bound product. A resin solution that utilises waste plastic already in circulation and turns it into beautiful driveways! The company has already used the equivalent of over 2.2 million plastic straws in driveways, paths and patios across the UK.

Certified Sustainable is a business built and run by waste management experts. It helps companies and manufacturers become more environmentally sustainable. This is achieved by Certified Sustainable providing an online portal which allows members to keep in track of their waste streams. The cherry on the top is that Certified Sustainable also provides an accreditation system which lets their clients highlight and demonstrate their commitment to becoming more sustainable.
