OLTCO’S RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

Our client, Oltco, is the UK’s leading sustainable resin driveway solutions provider. The business transforms spaces via unique solutions and innovative products. The company also prides itself on looking after the environment and the community. Oltco has achieved this by launching its innovative and environmentally friendly solution, Recycle Bound, which uses waste plastic already in circulation to produce beautiful driveways. Alongside this, Oltco gives back to the community by its Random Acts of Kindness campaign.

The Random Acts Of Kindness campaign is a way of Oltco giving back to the local community and celebrating its 15-year Anniversary. The campaign started on 22 March 2019, when Oltco delivered pasties to local firefighters in Newquay. The firefighters deliver food parcels for the Noah project. This charity gives out food, clothes, toys, baby items and accessories to single parents and families in crisis.

On the 3rd April 2019, Oltco completed its second random act of kindness where ‘Oltco’ cupcakes were made and delivered to Crantock Lodge Care Home. The residents really enjoyed their cupcakes with their afternoon tea.

Oltco visited Newquay Junior School on 10th May 2019 to award ‘The Random Act of Kindness award’ to the fantastic Zach Piper. Zach had shaved his head in front of the entire school in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support and raised thousands of pounds for the charity. Zach was also rewarded with a trip for him and his family to Alton towers!

The fourth act was completed on 14th August 2019 when Oltco donated money to DIY SOS Local to assemble a shed for the final part of its project at Trenance Childcare. DIY SOS thoroughly appreciated the gesture. With the kind donation of Oltco, DIY SOS was able to help rebuild areas of Trenance Childcare. The charity is dedicated to providing high quality care and education at affordable prices for families in Newquay and the surrounding areas.

More recently, Oltco donated £100 to Newquay Community Hospital as a way of thanking the staff for all their hard work. The money will go towards some plants to brighten up the inpatient sensory garden.

Following on from these kind acts, various Oltco franchises have now completed their own random acts of kindness.

Over in Derby, Adam Smith completed a Random Act of Kindness by joining local charity, Sustrans, on a litter picking mission on a popular cycle track.  Nick Evans of Oltco Northwich, Cheshire and his wife give back to their local community by spending at least one hour per month volunteering with the Middlewich Clean Team and have already supported five of the organised cleans. During these cleans, the pair have filled at least 15 bin bags of rubbish.

The positive and caring culture that Oltco has created has inspired other franchises to take part. Liam Dorian of Oltco Colchester will be giving back to the local community this Christmas as he will be donating and collecting items for Colchester’s foodbank. Rich Fletcher and Brian Wright of Oltco Gloucester will be donating a percentage of their earnings to an environmentally friendly cause.

Ben Ure of Oltco Plymouth, spent the day volunteering at local Plymouth based charity, Gables Farm. Gables Farm is a non-euthanasia rescue and rehoming centre that has been helping the region’s unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats since 1907. He worked alongside Gables Farm’s Maintenance Assistant, Matt, carrying out a range of jobs including clearing rubbish and brambles and of course walking some of the four-legged residents

Well done for all your hard work Oltco!
