IT’S PLASTIC FREE JULY!
At Voice Communications, we care deeply about the environment. Climate change is becoming an ever-present issue and a big contributor to global warming is plastic waste. This is because plastic is durable and made to last and throughout its life cycle, plastic produces green house emissions. Furthermore, a big part of its impact is that it can be found littered in our streets, seas and unsafe places where it breaks down eventually over the years.
Although plastic waste is an on-going problem, it is fantastic to see initiatives that are dedicated to showing how everyone can play their part in being more sustainable, especially when it comes to using plastic. One such initiative is Plastic Free July, a global movement that encourages millions of people be part of the solution against plastic pollution so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and in general a healthier world.
Plastic Free July raises awareness of how you can act consciously as a consumer. From replacing your shopping bag with a bag for life to using a reusable bottle rather than a plastic one, there are plenty of small changes you can make. The most important thing is to try limit your use of single use plastics and to recycle as much as possible.
We pride ourselves on working with innovative companies that share our passion for the environment. Two such companies that help encourage sustainability, are Oltco and Certified Sustainable.
Oltco, the UK’s leading sustainable resin driveway company, provides its customers with a ground breaking environmentally friendly product called Recycle Bound, the world’s first driveway solution utilising waste plastic that is already in circulation. Designed to combat the global issue of plastic waste, Recycle Bound has already recycled the equivalent of over 40,000,000 plastic straws in resin driveways, patios, pathways and balconies across the UK since launching in 2019.
Certified Sustainable was set up by two waste management experts that want to help companies and manufacturers become more environmentally friendly when disposing of their waste. The company provides accreditation to businesses which have made a clear and demonstrable commitment to best-practice sustainability and waste management.
As a B-Corp business, we join a global movement consisting of other B-crops which are all dedicated to reaching the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Every member of Voice is conscious about our own environmental impact and we are dedicated to safeguarding the planet.
The team at Voice Communications is also committed to cutting down on single use plastics. We are so happy it’s Plastic Free July, what a fantastic way to raise awareness on this important issue.
