We are delighted to announce that we are now working with The Shepherd in Langham. The pub is currently going through extensive refurbishment and is due to re-launch as a new, beautiful dining destination, with a special launch weekend being held on the 7 and 8 September. Offering a menu created using fresh, local produce and an array of fine beverages, the eatery is sure to become the new destination eatery on the Essex / Suffolk border. Voice will be working with The Shepherd to ensure that the re-launch gets all the attention it deserves.
Previously known as The Shepherd and Dog, the pub was originally constructed in 1928 and is an excellent example of an English village public house. Renovation work on the building has been overseen by new owners Esther and Richard Brunning. Esther has always had a passion for cooking and honed her culinary skills while training at Leith’s. After working as a caterer in Central London for several years, Esther and her husband Richard opened The Mistley Quay Café. After nine years, the couple have moved on to their new venture at The Shepherd, bringing their wealth of expertise with them.
Head chef, Mark Knowles, joins The Shepherd from the Suffolk Food Hall and will be creating a delectable array of dishes inspired by Esther’s experience in the kitchen, with a focus on using fresh, locally sourced produce. The menu will offer a selection of healthy and hearty food throughout the day, as well as a wide range of gluten-free and vegetarian dishes. There will also be a special children’s menu in the early evening, ensuring that there is something to get all taste buds tingling.
For special occasions The Shepherd will have a large dining room for private hire, perfect for anniversaries and birthday parties. In addition to this there will be a beautiful snug area, ideal for relaxing on a cold winter’s evening, whilst the garden is sure to be a great place to chill out with a glass of wine on a sunny afternoon. There will be weekly live music nights, themed evenings (such as popular Moroccan and Tapas evenings) and a traditional supper club.
Esther Brunning, Owner of The Shepherd, commented: “We are so excited to be launching The Shepherd and delighted to be working with Voice. We were really impressed by Voice’s food and drink experience, especially within the pub and restaurant sector, and we expect to get some fantastic results with them.”
