Top Tips to Help You Become a Social Media Boss

In light of the success of our first social media workshop which took place on Thursday 18 January - we thought we would collate five of our favourite tips about social media to help you become a social media boss.
Rule number 1
Always reply to your followers! Whether it is a simple emoji, a small phrase or a paragraph, you must reply to any comments, feedback or reviews that you receive. This ensures your customers/followers feel acknowledged and that their comments have been taken on board.
Rule number 2
Analytics will be your best friend. The platforms that you will most commonly use (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram) all have a function allowing you to view page insights or analytics. This is a great way to see what time your followers are most engaged with your posts and the type of content they are most receptive to. This enables you to tailor your content and post updates your followers will love at times they are likely to engage with it.
Rule number 3
Create a social media policy. A social media policy is the equivalent of a social media handbook. It will provide employees with guidelines on how to use and act on social media.
Rule number 4
Ask companies to leave reviews on your page. If a customer is happy with your products or services why not ask them to shout about it? One of the first places people go to gain a first impression of a business is funnily enough, Facebook. If your page is lit up with glowing reviews then people are much more likely to take their interest in your business further.
Rule number 5
Use the right language for each platform. As much as we all love throwing an emoji at the end of a post every now and again, it just isn’t appropriate for LinkedIn *crying emoji*. We especially recommend taking advantage of using hashtags on Twitter and Instagram.
