HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK
During the hard times we are facing, it’s important that we stand strong and united. We must not only support our loved ones and friends but our local communities and businesses too.
Everyone at Voice Communications is passionate about helping to support local businesses as many will be hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak. Here are our top tips for how you can support local businesses during this time:
Liking, sharing and commenting on the business’ social media channels
Social media is a great way for boosting a business’ brand awareness and reputation. If you find yourself scrolling through Facebook, Instagram LinkedIn or Twitter, why not like, share and comment on the local business’ page.
It’s a quick and easy process that can potentially help the company attract new customers and earn new sales. When you ‘like’ or ‘follow’ the business page, you will be kept up to date with all of the business’ news and announcements. Engaging with their page and sharing their updates could give them the extra support they need when trying to keep their business running online. It’s more important than ever to support them, as many businesses have shut their doors to the public because of the lockdown.
Leave a review for the local businesses you’ve previously shopped with
A good review can do many things for a business, it can improve credibility and reputation, drive sales and help increase its chances of picking up new clientele.
Not only this, it can help spread positivity and happiness for the owners of the business. A kind and honest review might be exactly what they need to hear at this time.
Buy a voucher for a shop to spend once everything is back open
As many shops have had to temporarily close due to the circumstances we find ourselves in, now is the perfect time to purchase a gift card for when they re-open!
From dog groomers to your local hairdressers, there are plenty of local businesses that sell gift cards. By purchasing a gift card you’re not only supporting the business but you are instilling confidence in the store owner as they may be feeling nervous about how the business will operate when it reopens. Plus, when the business is back open, you’ll be able to treat yourself to something nice too.
Shop at your local independent stores rather than the big supermarkets chains
Rather than travelling to your nearest big supermarket chain, why not visit your local bakeries, greengrocers and butchers for the essentials. You will not only support those businesses and help them continue to trade but you will also have the benefit of staying closer to home, instead of needing to travel to a massive supermarket chain. Many of these independent businesses are now also offering temporarily delivery services so make sure to check and avoid having to go if you can.
Everyone at Voice Communications is doing their part to help the local businesses and community, from donating to local food banks and volunteering for the NHS to using local business services. Together, we will get through this.
