Why is GBP is a valuable tool for managing the online presence and reputation of your business? It helps to improve local SEO, meaning that your business will become more visible in local Google searches, and it is the first impression a customer will get of your business when searching.

How can you optimise your Google Business Profile?

  1. Start by claiming your business on Google Business Profile and go through the verification process to ensure you have control over your listing. Google receives over 3.5 billion searches per day1 which is why it is so important to claim the listing and be visible to potential customers!
  1. A profile is twice as likely to be considered reputable by a customer if there are images.2 Make sure to regularly upload high-resolution photos and videos that showcase your business, products, services, team members, or location.
  1. Reviews are also extremely important as they are one of the main ranking factors of GBP. Once you have completed a job, be sure to send the Google review link to your customer and ask if they would like to write a review. If any reviews are uploaded, make sure that you respond to them as this not only helps with Google rankings it also shows that you care about your customers and their experience of your business.
  1. Utilise the Update feature and regularly upload posts. These can be similar to posts that you would upload to social media showcasing the work that you are doing.
