Following another successful search for the cream of the entrepreneurial crop in East Anglia, Voice Communications is pleased to announce that Essex based producer of Beetroot Ketchup, The Foraging Fox, has been crowned winner of The One Competition 2014.
The business expert judging panel selected a shortlist of seven finalists, who were invited to give a 45 minute presentation at Layer Marney Tower, England’s tallest Tudor Gatehouse, on 18th November. After careful deliberation, there was a unanimous vote to declare The Foraging Fox the winner.
This was not without impressive competition, however. The other finalists consisted of Meat & Kneaded (a Chelmsford based street food company), SKN-RG (a unique performance skin care brand), Lady Bakewell Park (a British homemade baking company), SmartNE (creator of WAI2Go, an interactive, multidimensional mapping platform), Cambridge Business Lounge (a business support company that encourages growth and collaboration) and Cambridge Muffin Company (a start-up business promoting their new range of savoury muffins).
The Foraging Fox beat off this stiff competition and emerged triumphant. The company is a business start-up within the food industry, based in Bishop’s Stortford on the Essex/Hertfordshire border, and is led by Frankie Sheekey and Desiree Parker. The company, which produces The Foraging Fox Beetroot Ketchup, had an extraordinarily successful launch at The Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2014.
Both Directors are extremely passionate and committed to making The Foraging Fox become a household name and can draw on their extensive expertise and experience across the financial and legal sectors.
After the successful launch of the ketchup at The Speciality and Fine Food Fair 2014, The Foraging Fox had to double its initial scaled batch to meet demand for the product generated at the show. Over 66% of the retailers who bought the ketchup in the soft launch before the Speciality and Fine Food Fair, reordered within a month, with the average reorder having an almost 200% increase on the original.
As winners of The One competition, The Foraging Fox will receive £30,000 worth of business support. This will include PR consultancy and implementation from Voice Communications, design consultancy from Phelan Barker, website consultancy from Rubber Cheese, online marketing from Climbing Trees, accountancy advice and annual returns from LB Group, MyRuby call answering service for a year, leadership and management coaching package from Julie Clements, legal support from Ellison’s Solicitors and a business consultancy package from Graham Broughton Consulting.
Frankie Sheekey, Co-Founder of The Foraging Fox, commented on their win saying, “This is an absolute honour. Winning The One competition at this stage in our growth is simply invaluable to us. Having the opportunity to build such an important network of professionals around us is crucial and we are hugely thankful to the panel for their belief in us.”
Desiree Parker, Co-Founder, added, “We had an incredible day at Layer Marney Tower. It’s a great feeling to know that the judges felt just as excited as we do about The Foraging Fox and what we want to achieve.”
Nichola Cain, Managing Director of Voice Communications, leads the judging panel and commented “We were thrilled with the number and high calibre of entries we received this year. Frankie and Desiree’s passion and drive really shone through during their presentation and their beetroot ketchup is a delicious and totally unique product. We are all very excited to begin working with The Foraging Fox to help the business reach its full potential and get the recognition we believe it deserves.”
