DC Electronics has announced the dates for their 2015 Formula Student workshops
The workshops offer Formula Student teams the opportunity to get hands on experience designing and building a custom wiring loom, while also gaining key insight into the workings of the industry.
The free workshops are growing in popularity year-on-year with students attending the 2014 events from a number of top universities, including Birmingham, Newcastle, Brunel and Glasgow.
The events are held in partnership with Deutsch Autosport, who generously supply practice materials for the students. As well as learning how to design and build a bespoke and winning wiring loom, students can also gain important industry skills, such as how to layout wiring looms, how to choose the correct materials and how to splice, crimp and solder. Students also participate in an introduction to contra-winding cable looms and learn about the application of heat sleeve, moulded parts and boots.
David Cunliffe, Managing Director of DC Electronics, said: “We’re really pleased to announce the Formula Student Dates for 2015 and are delighted that there’s still a growing appetite in the industry for these workshops. It really is invaluable for students to gain such hands-on experience from one of the most knowledgeable teams in the country and I urge all teams to sign-up as soon as possible.”
