This month is B-Corp month with the theme #BehindtheB which aims to take you behind the scenes of a B-Corp business.

We wanted to let you behind the scenes today by giving you our top five tips that will help companies looking to start their B-Corp journey.

1.The B-Corp process can sometimes feel overwhelming but it’s important to always take time to go through the questions and understand what is being asked of you so that you can prepare. After all, this accreditation is a huge achievement for your business, so it’s worth taking it slow.

2. Seek out a mentor, this would be someone who has gone through the B-Corp journey and can be there to support you through the process. This is so important because by doing this you will have someone who understands how hard the journey is and can offer advice that will make the process run smoothly. We are always happy to speak with anyone looking to become a B-Corp.

3. Always have evidence. When answering the questions you need to be able to back it up with evidence of things you have been doing that meet the requirements of the question and showcase your business in the best light. You can include evidence and explanations in the comments section under each question.

4. If you don’t feel as though you can answer a question then detail the steps of the actions you are going to take in order to meet it. This helps show your commitment towards enhancing your business and ensuring it is balancing the triple bottom line.

5. Dedicate time towards your B-Corp journey and enjoy it too because it is incredibly rewarding.
