Voice hits the road in a clown car
Last week Voice joined the intu Lakeside team and their colourful clown car on it’s journey to deliver £10,000 worth of books to children and adults staying in hospitals and hospices.
On the 3 and 4 August the team dropped books of all types from early years reading to adult fiction to locations across Essex and London. They were accompanied by Skittle Man, an energetic clown, who was on hand to perform magic tricks and bring smiles and laughter to those that he visited.
The project builds on the partnership between intu Lakeside and the National Literacy Trust, which aims to encourage parents to read with their children as well as getting children and young adults to read for enjoyment. The aim of the book donation was to bring comfort to patients and their families during what can be an extremely anxious time.
