CORNWALL WOMEN’S FUND HOSTS LOCAL LAUNCH EVENT AS IT RECRUITS NEW MEMBERS
Cornwall Women’s Fund is a brilliant organisation that funds charities who work with women and girls across Cornwall. It will be hosting a launch event tonight at Lanhydrock Hotel, Bodmin. Cornwall Women’s Fund has been created by Amanda Stratford of St Allen, near Truro, and the group is currently looking for new members to coincide with the launch.
Cornwall Women’s Fund celebrates philanthropy, inspiring women and girls to achieve their ambitions. The group strives to respond to local need, and believes that ‘together our money makes a bigger difference’. The launch event will be an inspiring evening, offering the chance for members and potential members to come together over a drink to discuss opportunities and plans for 2020.
Amanda Stratford, Cornwall Women’s Fund’s Founder, says: “Cornwall has an amazing entrepreneurial and community spirit, I wanted to harness this to provide more professional support for women and girls across the county. A friend of mine started a women’s giving circle in Bath in 2018, as she experienced a similar need in Melbourne, Australia. This highlighted an international demand for improved awareness, inspiring me to create the group. I got a group of friends together, we spoke to Cornwall Community Foundation and they agreed to host the fund.”
Cornwall Women’s Fund now has 20 members and it is hoping more people will sign up at the launch.
With each member donating £20 per month, an annual gift of £240 or more if they wish, the group’s funds will be allocated to make the biggest impact each year. Membership is open to women and men of any age, interest or background. By joining, members are able to participate in an international movement of giving circles, which enables people to make their giving more meaningful, networking to achieve social change. Meanwhile, members receive exclusive invitations to events and local visits, opportunities to share knowledge and skills with other members and a community designed to inspire and encourage.
The Cornwall Women’s Fund has a powerful vision; to create a flourishing, supportive space for professional women across Cornwall. As the charity looks to work with an increasing number of members throughout 2020, this offers local businesses an inspiring opportunity to better support ambitious girls and women.
Everyone at Voice Communications is extremely pleased to be working with the Cornwall Women’s Fund and we wish them all the best for tonight’s launch event. Well done ladies.
